Sudden rain

Rain can be sudden and very heavy in this tropical part of the world. When the heavy rain comes down, the city disappears from the view of our windows.

However, it never lasts for long… The rain disappears as sudden as it arrives.

Wagga Wagga & Dubbo

Kristin had an interesting experience visiting the towns of Wagga Wagga & Dubbo this week. They are both smaller towns in central New South Wales.
A propeller plane from Sydney took Kristin to Wagga Wagga where she visited dealers and enjoyed a tru pub dinner with the locals. After a full days review with the dealer she was quite exhausted. The following day Kristin and her colleague Peter drove five hours thru a very dry landscape which had not seen water in a very long time. It is all yellow... even the sheep.
Arriving in Dubbo it made me wonder if a small city like this really needed an airport? But I found out that Dubbo actually have more than 15 flights a day going to Sydney (a 45 minute trip by propeller plane).

Yamba

After enjoying a dinner at the Goald Coast with Kristin's colleagues on Friday we headed south to the legendary surf beach in Yamba. Yamba is a 4 hour drive down the coast from the Gold Coast.

Our room at The Pacific Hotel Yamba had an excellent view of the surf and the lighthouse. With much delight did we get to try the the fantastic surf with our Australian Body Board.

Last day before work

On Tuesday morning Patrik got a call from an Architectural firm witch he had applied for a position at. They wanted him to come to the office for an interview in the afternoon the same day. The interview went well so they hired him and he start with them on Thursday, this week.
That left only one day of “The happy unemployed life” so to make the most of it he off course went out sailing.
It was a enjoyable sailing even though there could have been a little more wind. But it sure was a good relaxing afternoon.

Window cleaning

Our house has 38 floors which maybe would cause a problem when cleaning the outside of the windows. That’s not the issue in this town. Here the window cleaners are climbers as well and makes there way down the outside of the building easy as 1, 2, 3.

Sunday at "The Spit"

On sunday we went for trip down the gold coast and Surfers Paradise.
We met with Heather and Max & Melin (her two great danes), at the Spit. The Spit is a beach area where dogs can run without a leash. Merlin is the white & black and his sister Max is brown. Max & Merlin had great fun, finding some doggie friends on the beach to play with. Here's Heather with Max and Merlin.

Saturday night

Saturday night
On Saturday evening we had Heather and Eric over for Takeaway. The first dinner ever on our balcony! With excellent advice from the two invited takeaway experts we finished ordering Indian takeaway from Sitar in New Farm.
