Castlemain Brewery

Queensland is the home of the XXXX brewery. The brewery is huge and can produce many different types of beer. XXXX, Thooleys, Hahn etc. Take a look at www.xxxx.com.au
It is located just next to Kristins office and the Suncorp stadium in Milton, where we saw the rugby.

We went for a tour of their facilities. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take photos inside, but we did get a photo of their "mascot".

Patrik took a close look at the old beer delivery truck. It reminded him of his old swedish firetruck.

Easter Holidays

On Good Friday we sang a few songs in Church and then drove up the Queensland’s coastline up to Hervey Bay. Hervey bay is a beautiful small coastal town, and it is from here that many people get on the ferry to Fraser Island.

An easter walk along the beach

Patrik took a bath on the Hervey Beach in a beautiful sunset.

We stayed at a nice and comfy Bed & Breakfast in Hervey Bay. And on saturday (Easter eve) we started the day with a walk on the Hervey Bay Pier, wich is 1 km long. We soon found out that the lokal weekend activity is to fish from the pier.

Then on Sunday we went to a Sunday Easter Lunch at Ross’s (Patrik’s boss) beach house, Seaview, at Wellington Point. A very nice neighbourhood!

The entrance

We where seriously impressed by the house, which Ross had been working on since he bought it 14 years ago. Most impressive was the Bruce the Moose hanging above the fireplace.

After visiting Ross and his friends we drove up the coast again to meet up with our Swedish friends Frida & Johanna who spent the Easter vacation in a resort on the Sunshine coast, Collum.

We had a gorgeous BBQ dinner.

We meant to have a swim in the sea in the morning, but the winds where too tought. Creating a too heavy sea to swim in.

Lifeguards keeping the beach safe.

We stayed the night in Collum and drove down the Sunshine coast Hinterland back on Monday. Taking a few stops along the way back to Brisbane. Along the way we stopped at a plantation of pineapples and learnt that they grow on "sticks".

Here's Frida checking out the fruits.

Rugby League

Suncorp Stadium hosted a Rugby Leaue game Saturday the 8th of April. Broncos vs Rabbithos. Our newly arrived friends Frida and Johanna joined us for our first Rugby League game ever.

Frida and Johanna arrived from Sweden on Friday evening and we arranged a pretty tough first day schedule for the ladies to join in on....

So Patrik headed for the supporter shop, convinced that the Broncos (Brisbane based) would win.

Compared to Rugby Union and AFL the Rugby League is a quicker game but not as rough. Which dissapointed all the girls.
The game ended an easy win for Broncos.

Then we went to Bec's birthday party. We where supposed to have been dressed up as something relating to the letter G, but becaue we came straight from the game we didn't have costumes on. But our friends looked great!

Visitors from Sweden

On Sunday we enjoyed a day at the pool with Swedish friends and colleagues to Kristin, Christina, Elisabeth och Anders. They arrived Saturday evening 1st of April from Sweden so they where quite exhausted with jetlag. Especially challanging for Christina who managed the trip well although being pregnant.

It was very nice to catch up with what's been happening in Sweden. We had a nice lunch on our balcony after a few laps in the pool.
